We are a craft group of ladies but open to anyone wanting to join us. Ann and Julie prepare items and teach the members how to put them together. These are mainly cards but we have also done boxes and gifts and other items.
We want people to craft along and chat too. Our card making is about stamping, die cutting, decoupage, painting, quilling, zentangle, parchment and collage and other ideas.
Members who do not want to participate in doing the card making can also bring their own items to do. We have had knitting and crochet and sewing and colouring etc.
Our main idea is to bring like minded people together to craft and chat which we encourage.

Osteoporosis 2000 a registered charity based at Hillsborough. We operate a drop in Centre where people can visit or call to get advice and information about osteoporosis. In addition we also provide exercise classes in the community. We currently hold a general exercise class aimed at prevention at Chapletown Methodist Church on Mondays 10.00 – 11.00. Our other classes are Falls Prevention classes which are held on Fridays 10.30 -11.30 & 11.45 -12.45 at the Scout Hut on Burncross Road. The falls prevention classes are based on the OTAGO programme which is an evidence based routine of exercise designed to prevent falls. We are working with the NHS falls team to encourage people who may be at risk of falling to access these classes. Anyone can attend any of these classes they just need to wear suitable clothing and comfortable footwear. The classes operate on a pay as you go system so no upfront fees.

We work , socially distanced , in Mortomley park most Saturday mornings … weather permitting. We collect litter in our area during this time. There are members of the general public who collect any litter they come across during their walks through the park. Because of all this activity we do not have a serious problem with litter in the park. However because of the increase in people enjoying the park the litter bins do fill up very quickly and any pressure you are able to bring on Sheffield Council to increase the frequency of emptying the bins would be much appreciated.
