In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, seventy years after having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952, when Her Majesty was 25 years old.
There is going to be an extended bank holiday from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June, which will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together and celebrate this historic milestone.
The national events are going to include:
*Trooping the Colour & Beacon Lighting (Thursday 2nd June)
*Service of Thanksgiving in St. Paul’s Cathedral (Friday 3rd June)
*Platinum Party at the Palace (Saturday 4th June)
*The Big Jubilee Lunch (Sunday 5th June)
Ecclesfield Parish Council would like to encourage people to come together within the community and celebrate this momentous occasion together.
We have established a ‘Queens Jubilee Celebrations Working’ Group to help plan for and coordinate activities across the Parish. If you want to hear more about its plans or have any practical suggestions on how we can best make the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee special in Ecclesfield please contact Natalie Richardson at the Parish Council by email on firstname.lastname@example.org
There is a national guide to taking part which will be updated monthly (until 1st June 2022) and can be found on the following website:
