Ukrainian Situation Humanitarian Working Group

Ecclesfield Parish Council wish to support the response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.  We know that some help is already being provided by Sheffield City Council and others to Ukrainian Refugees in the parish.

The Parish Council wants to do play its part to support the response to this humanitarian crisis and provide support to refugees in the parish.

 

It has established a Ukrainian Situation Humanitarian Working Group that comprises parish councillors and other to coordinate its activities.

Ukrainian Food Day – March 2023

Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Sioned Mair-Richards, Ecclesfield Parish Councillors, Councillor Susan Davidson, Councillor John Housley and others took party in Ukrainian Food Day at the Methodist Church, Chapeltown to support a shelter in Western Ukraine for people who have lost their homes and need temporary accommodation, food and medicine

Trip to Lord Mayor’s Parlour February 2023

A party of Ukrainian Refugees from the local area visited the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards, at her parlour in Sheffield Town Hall.  The visit was organised by Ecclesfield Parish Council.

Coffee morning 7th February 2023

Members of the Ukrainian Humanitarian Situation working group in the Wagon and Horses Public House

Our Ukrainian Situation Humanitarian Working Group hosted their 2nd coffee morning on Tuesday 7th February 2023. The event took place in the Wagon and Horses Public House with over 120 items of warm clothing being donated to families living within region.

Ukrainian Families Coffee morning 29th November 2022

Ecclesfield Parish Council hosted a successful coffee morning/warm clothes swap at the Wagon and Horses Public House on the morning of Tuesday 29th November 2022 for Ukrainian families living in the area who have been forced to flee their home country due to the war.  Over 130 items of warm clothing were distributed.

Local Ukrainian Refugees Visit Chatsworth House and Garden September 2022

Over 40 Ukrainian refugees living in the local area were excited to visit Chatsworth House and Gardens and the surrounding villages in September.

The trip was organised by the Ecclesfield Parish Council’s Ukrainian Situation Humanitarian Working Group to help the refugees settle in and discover the rich culture and history of the UK.

Chatsworth House kindly provided free entry for the refugees to the house and gardens.
