Bus service changes in South Yorkshire from Saturday 6th April

Please see below from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) regarding the latest update on bus services:
As you are aware, bus companies in South Yorkshire are free to decide where and when they will run services. South Yorkshire’s bus network has seen significant reductions in the last year due to a reduction in government funding and reduced passenger demand.
We worked with operators, local authority representatives, employers and residents to identify changes that we felt would improve specific local services and sought people’s views on these proposals through a public consultation from Monday 5 February to Thursday 15 February.
Responses received were mixed, with support for some changes, some suggested amendments and also some opposition – though this was, unsurprisingly, where the proposals did not fully restore previously lost services, rather than a direct criticism of the proposals.
The changes have now been finalised and from the weekend of Saturday 6 April, some changes to routes will be introduced, along with some minor timetable changes to address punctuality issues, improvements in service frequency and improved access to employment and local amenities.
What services are affected?
We will keep our service changes web page up to date and customers are advised to keep checking this page for the latest service information.
Details of the service changes along with timetables will be available on our website at travelsouthyorkshire.com/servicechanges from Monday 11 March.
Timetable information on all affected bus stops, on buses and in Interchanges, will be updated as soon as all the information has been received and processed.
