First Bus student fare changes – from Sunday 1st September 2024
First Bus South Yorkshire has informed South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) of their decision to apply a price rise to their student period bus fares from Sunday 1st September 2024.
What are the price changes?
From Sunday 1 September 2024, First Bus is applying a price rise to their range of Student products and details will be available at firstbus.co.uk/south-yorkshire/tickets/ticket-types/students.
A summary of the changes is shown in the table below:

How are these changes being communicated to customers?
The new prices will be introduced from Sunday 1 September 2024 and First Bus will inform customers of the price changes via their website at firstbus.co.uk/south-yorkshire/tickets/student-fare-changes-1st-september. The range of tickets available in South Yorkshire can be found at firstbus.co.uk/south-yorkshire/tickets/ticket-prices.
First Bus will also be publishing posts online via X (Twitter) @FirstSouthYorks and Facebook First South Yorkshire to advise customers of the change in pricing.
We will be providing details of the fare changes on the news and updates page on our Travel South Yorkshire website and our ticketing and passes page will be updated with the new prices from Sunday 1 September.
