Bus service changes in South Yorkshire from the w/e of Saturday 31 August 2024

Bus service changes in South Yorkshire from the w/e of Saturday 31 August 2024

As you are aware, bus companies in South Yorkshire are free to decide where and when they will run services. South Yorkshire’s bus network has seen significant reductions in the last year due to a reduction in funding under the previous government and reduced passenger demand.

We worked with operators, local authority representatives, employers and residents to identify changes that we felt would improve specific local services and sought people’s views on these proposals through a public consultation from Friday 5 July to Tuesday 16 July.

A total of 1025 responses were received. The majority of these were positive, in support of the changes, with some suggested amendments to proposals.

The changes have now been finalised and from the weekend of Saturday 31 August some changes to routes will be introduced, along with some minor timetable changes to address punctuality issues, improvements in service frequency and improved access to employment and local amenities.
