Pandemic Monument Design Competition

To mark the Pandemic, we have been working with members of the Parish, Friends of Chapeltown Park, Chapeltown Forum and Sheffield City Council Park’s team and are looking to place a monument to mark the pandemic in Chapeltown Park overlooking the Parish, with smaller monument areas in other parks across the Parish. We have invited children from the Parish to submit their designs to influence the design, by way of a competition with a prize for the winner. We will also be using painted rocks within the monuments and would love donations of these. Please click the links below for the information and entry form. All entries can be either handed in at your child’s school or emailed to emmamainwaring@ecclesfield-pc.gov.uk – The deadline is the 29th March…

Ecclesfield Parish Archives are looking for submissions for a new collection….

Empty supermarket shelves due to Coronvirus pandemic

‘Life Through Lockdown’ will be the new collection featured within Ecclesfield Parish Archives.

We all know this has been a historic event which people will look back on for generations to come, so at Ecclesfield Parish Archives they are putting together a collection of photographs, videos, etc to document such a momentous time. They are hoping to curate a really diverse collection showing all aspects of ‘life through lockdown’ from the empty streets and empty shelves to more social photographs showing families surviving life in lockdown, homeschooling, socially distant street parties and anything else which will give generations of the future a real feel for what life was like during the pandemic.

If you have anything you would like to contribute, please email emmamainwaring@ecclesfield-pc.gov.uk
