Road Resurfacing Work Market Street

Road Resurfacing Work on Market Street
Amey will soon be resurfacing a section of Wheel Lane as part of the Council’s Streets Ahead highway improvement programme.
This work is due to start late-March and will last approximately 1 day, between the hours of 11pm-5am, Monday – Friday only. In addition, they will need to return to refresh any existing road markings as necessary.
Temporary road signs will be displayed for a minimum of five days before work starts, confirming the dates and any associated parking restrictions or road closures. The signs show a “work window” of dates and times when we are permitted to carry out our works. However, they may not be on site for the full duration shown. Unfortunately, they are unable to be more specific about days, as our schedule can be affected by unforeseen circumstances, and it may be necessary to delay the start date at short notice. Their programme is heavily dependent on the weather, for example, it is preferable not to lay road surface in cold weather and can be unsafe for them to work in very wet conditions.
Please note that they will need to close the road to complete these works and there will be no on-street parking during working hours. Vehicles left on-street may be towed away and you would need to pay a fee to have your vehicle released.
If you are away during the period in which the works are scheduled to take place, please avoid parking your car on the road.
Pedestrian access and access for emergency vehicles will be available at all times.
